Luck vs. Choice Robert

Luck is a force that can bring about something good or bad and it can be beyond someone’s control. Everyone has heard the saying, “Oh that person is super lucky, I have such bad luck when it comes to things like this”. Can someone put themselves in a position to have better luck or cause themselves to have bad luck? For example, someone who is constantly putting themselves in a bad situation then gets in trouble and says that they had some bad luck, or a person that works day in and day out to better themselves and then something good happens. People say, “Oh they’re so lucky”. Is it luck or the choices we make?

A choice is making a decision that is between different options. People can make choices based on different factors, such as goals, values, personal preferences, etc. Choices have the ability to make or break a decision, alter someone's life, or truly just be simple. Universally, there are good choices and bad choices, and sometimes people still make the decisions that they know are bad for them. Exercising free will can be a difficult decision, and can often lead to stress and simply not knowing what to do.

Now barring luck versus choice, I believe that the choices we make put us in a position to have better or worse luck. But, luck is something externally that we cannot control, while a choice is an internal decision that someone has the power over. Better choices lead to better luck, while bad choices can lead to bad luck
